Who loves a good planner? Me! Every year I get a new Happy Planner, usually for Christmas. I love getting crafty and making it pretty, it’s a great way to release my creativity. If you want to jazz up your planner I have put together nine color schemes to get you started.
I have bundled scrapbook paper and washi tape for each theme to help guide you along the way. Here are the nine at a glance.
For the first half of the year I like using fun bright colors and themes. Once we get toward the back half of the year I start to use transitional colors.
THE 9 COLOR SCHEMES
APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS
I don’t know why, but i just love this one, it’s great for Spring. I love the teal and pink pops paired with the black and white striped paper. How cute would it be to cut a large umbrella out with my Silhouette and put it on the page?
BRIGHTER DAYS ARE COMING
This one just makes me smile. The bright blue, yellow and pink are sure to put you in a good mood. Add a big sun to your page to add a focal point.
DOUGHNUT FORGET ABOUT ME
I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who didn’t like a doughnut. I’m pretty sure I could eat them everyday. Have some fun with these sweet treats and take some in to your co workers during this week.
DON’T MAKE ME BLUSH
Mint and blush have been trending colors this year and they make a great combo for you planner. I’ve added some gold accents to bling out the pages.
TAKE ME BACK TO THE 80S
Neon colors are definitely bright, but they sure are fun! I paired the neon pink and green with black and white accents. This scheme would look great if you cut out some 80s shapes like triangles and spirals to add to your pages.
I SPY SOME CACTI
Everywhere I look I see a cactus, they are definitely a trending icon. I love them paired with a deep coral and mustard. This theme is great for March, when all the music festivals are happening.
How pretty is this water color floral with the flecks of gold? I love the baby blue dots as an accent pattern. Use an extra sheet of the floral paper to cut out some of the flowers and cluster them in a corner on your spread.
For a spring time tribal scheme pair it with a soft coral and mint. I love the coral paired back to the black and white tribal print. Accent with mint to pop in another color.
Ok, mamas, who needs their coffee to get them started in the morning? I thought a lot of people could relate to a coffee theme. Use this one when you have a busy week ahead. I put this one into my planner this week.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the word coffee and turned it into a sticker with my sticker maker, see a bit of it here, My Sticker Maker . I cut out the hearts with a heart punch and used roller glue to add them to the pages. I have a few other things I need to add, but look how fun this spread is!
I buy a lot of single page scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby, but I also have some paper books that I have found some great patterns in. I’m working on another 9 and some seasonal themes, so stay tuned!
